Changing all the TIme

I have decided that the true test of motherhood is being able to adapt to a constantly changing child.  Just when you think you have something down, EVERYTHING changes.  In the course of the last month, Jack has mastered eating, crawling, standing up, and a variety of new sounds. AND, he is a TANK.  He loves all food...red peppers, feta cheese, asparagus, artichokes...I let him try it all and he just wants more.  I think Jack has inherited this from his cousin DJ :)  We go to Wholes Foods for lunch a lot and I hit the salad bar for crazy new things for him to try.  Thus far, his favorite is spinach and goat cheese.  I had a slight fear of over feeding him but the doctor says that "he will tell me when he has had enough".  I am still waiting for that message.  Here are some new pictures of the little guy.

Guess who posed this photograph? Cool Uncle Taylor of course.  Although, the Ray-Bands do play well with the I heart chicks T :)

Crawling around the play room.
Jack has learned to stand up in his crib and there is nothing he would rather do.  The problem - he doesn't not know how to sit back down.  So, this is the new challenge...or should I say game.  I put him to bed, he stands up and bounces until he is exhausted, but can't sit back down.  So, I go back into the nursery and put him on his tummy to sleep and he just stands up again.  I have a feeling this little guy will be climbing out of his crib in no time at all....scary!

Food for Thought

We started solids a few weeks ago and it is a whole new messy adventure.  As you might guess, Jack loves to eat.  He makes some really funny sounds during meal time...he screams in delight, grunts for more food, and fusses when you give him rice cereal (his least favorite).  But, my favorite sound is the one he makes when you give him fruit, banana especially.  He calms down, looks you strait in the eye and goes "ba ba ba ba".  I can only interpret this as a sign of satisfaction...I mean who does not like strained fruit...right?? Anyway, here is typical picture of Jack after meal time.  Mama has not quite mastered the feeding technique.  To tell you the truth, I think it is more fun when it is messy anyway :)
